Post Annum EP
2012 is going to be a very busy year for Last Dance London and we are excited to celebrate the launch of our record label with an EP that contains work from a handful of extremely talented artists. The Post Annum EP offers an insight into the range of music we are planning to release in upcoming months, with no particular genre or style being focused on too heavily. We aim to embrace as many different sounds as possible, releasing music that excites and inspires us, with the hope of being able to share the sense of enjoyment that we get from discovering new music.
Alongside the record label we will be continuing with our events, documentaries, radio shows and everything else we have been involved in, but for now, take the time to enjoy our first release and let us know what you think!
Vekta - Sunlight
Vekta, a Brighton based producer born out of System Of A down and dark techno, classical guitar and many more musical inspirations... The EP opener is a track that uses nice sample cuts and eerie melodies to draw you into the journey of the compilation. It starts off calm, and gradually picks up a more electric and spacey pace, with the sound of acoustic strings all the while maintaining a heavy elegance.
Echo Locate - Boom, She Said.
Echo Locate possesses a staggering knowledge of of sound manipulation and audio sculpture which allows him to write exquisite music. "Boom, She Said" is dense, yet holds enough space so it isn’t too heavy on the ears. It carries one through a slow lo-fi groove, complemented by soft filters, exciting the journey, but staying calm.
Bluechest - Do Not Disturb
Bluechest's debut blurs the lines between hip-hop and trip-hop. The beat and melody carry an eeriness that captures the imagination behind his music, with incredibly tactile, crunchy drum sounds offering a warm and laid back tone.
Dmitry Evgrafov - Obscured Obstacle
Moscow's Dmitry Evgrafov prolifically crafts that sound that you look out of windows to, with a nostalgic array of classical instrumentation and synths. Low velocity pianosong and synthetic sounds bring out the body of this delicate piece of music.
Josh Jukes - One Grain Of Sand
Achilles, who are fresh to the label A Future Without, create a pulsing crescendo, a wall of sound from the moment they step on stage. However Josh Jukes, an integral part to that wall as synth player, brings forward its antithesis. It is by no means less disarming, but instead of forcing us to comply, Pete Seeger's vocal whispers to your ear offering a soothing end to our debut release.
